Team and Partners
Our research team is based in the Department of Psychiatry, at the University of Cambridge.
We have a team that includes experts from a range of disciplines, and we commonly collaborate with the Department of Paediatrics, Department of Engineering, and Department of Computer Science.
Dr. Anna Moore is affiliated to the van der Schaar Labs, and the program is part of the ai@cam.

Dr Anna Moore
Assistant Professor in Child Psychiatry and Medical Informatics
Anna is an Assistant Professor in Child Psychiatry and Medical Informatics in the Department of Psychiatry at the University of Cambridge. Anna is the Programme Lead for both Timely and CADRE, under a broader research initiative to transform the way young people can access timely and appropriate support for their mental health. Anna is the Primary Investigator for THRIVE, and the clinical lead for NIHR Children and Young People’s BioResource (D-CYPHR) at NIHR BioResource. She is also Associate Director of the Centre for Human Inspired AI (CHIA); Senior Research Fellow at Anna Freud; and UK Research and Innovation (UKRI) Future Leaders Fellow.

Jessica Young
Digital Research Project Manager
Jessica has an academic background in Psychology (BSc) and Mental Health Science (MSc). Having worked in operations across different sectors, Jessica has built a passion for being a part of innovation within clinical research and support services. Now, Jessica works with the TIMELY team as the Digital Research Project Manager.

Dr Rachel Sippy
Research Fellow and CADRE Data Lead
Rachel is a Research Fellow at Clare Hall and a Postdoctoral Research Associate. She is trained as an epidemiologist with expertise in data science and global health. Her interests include environmental and behavioural determinants of health, surveillance, predictive modelling, and assessment of interventions. As part of the Timely Team, Rachel is leading the curation of data resources and standardisation of diverse datasets.

Dr Robert Pralat
Research Associate
Robert is a research associate at THIS Institute , where he workson various projects aimed at the improvement of healthcare. In the Timely project, Robert is leading on the development of a blueprint for a digitally enabled pathway that will allow early identification and intervention to improve children’s mental health. A qualitative researcher trained in sociology and psychology, Robert has extensive experience of studying health and family issues.

Dr Jack Robinson
Health Data Advisor
Jack is a medical doctor and health data specialist. He has worked with system leaders across the NHS and academia to deliver complex, large-scale data initiatives in support of both direct patient care and research, securing funding for implementation and supporting long-term strategic planning. This has included close involvement with NHS England’s Secure Data Environment programme at both London and regional level and working with leading Academic Health Science Centres as well as DHSC-backed commercial ventures.

Kunyi Ding
Research Assistant
Kunyi is interested in using data to facilitate early identification and intervention of mental illnesses. Within the Timely Team, Kunyi is a research assistant supporting the built of CADRE and predictive modelling. She holds an MSc in Clinical and Therapeutic Neuroscience with Distinction from the University of Oxford, where she built an automated tool measuring global cortical atrophy from CT scans, and a BA in Experimental Psychology with First Class Honours from the University of Oxford.

Lily Zhang
Research Assistant
Lily is a research assistant in the Department of Psychiatry at the University of Cambridge. She holds an MSc in Mental Health Studies with Distinction from King’s College London and is interested in working with young people to co-produce effective and inclusive mental health care. As part of the Timely team, Lily supports the pathway design and PPIE (Patient Public Involvement and Engagement), contributing to the creation of a digital blueprint aimed at the early detection and intervention of mental health issues.

Jad Sbai
PhD Student
Jad is pursuing his PhD in Machine Learning at the University of Cambridge under the supervision of Dr. Anna Moore and Prof. Mihaela van der Schaar. At Timely, he develops responsible AI tools, focusing on the effective integration of genomic and Electronic Health Record (EHR) data to deliver accurate and reliable clinical predictions. He holds an MPhil in Advanced Computer Science from the University of Cambridge, and a BSc in Computer Science with AI specialisation from King’s College London.

Charlotte Burdge
MPhil Student
Charlotte is a MPhil student in Medical Science (Psychiatry) at the University of Cambridge, supervised by Dr. Anna Moore. Charlotte’s research explores public perspectives of AI-driven tools for the early identification of mental health problems in children and adolescents, with a specific emphasis on underserved groups. Charlotte will continue to work with the nationwide Children and Adolescents Research Involvement for the Next Generation (CA:RING) Patient and Public Involvement and Engagement (PPIE) community.
